About The Clean Paper

The Clean Paper explains scientific papers without clickbait, ads, or hype.

Scientific papers are often hard to read outside their own field. Popular coverage tends to go the other way: too much excitement, too little precision, too many ads, and not enough attention to what the paper actually proves. This site exists to do one narrow job — take a paper and explain it clearly.

Each article aims to answer the same questions: what the authors did, what they found, what the result probably means, what it does not prove, how strong the evidence is, and why it matters. We link to the original paper or preprint whenever possible.

We do not use programmatic ads. We do not host open comments. We do not publish to fill a schedule. We do not sell the reader’s attention.

Some articles are prepared with AI assistance, but every published article remains an editorial responsibility. AI can help draft, simplify, and check explanations; it does not replace judgment, source reading, or accountability.

The goal is simple: make serious scientific work readable without turning it into sludge.
